Worldwide Steak’n’Shake Lindy Bomb {greenville, sc event photography}

Last month, February 12th, to be exact, was the “World Wide Lindy Bomb a Steak’n’Shake Day.” Lindy bombing is when a group of lindy hoppers dances in a public place where there is not normally dancing, such as a park or restaurant. And what exactly is the lindy hop? It’s the most fun you can have on two feet.

Half of our group, enjoying some food & shakes before the dancing begins.

Picking out the first song. While the jukebox was very convenient (we didn’t have to lug around our own music), I wish it had more swingable songs, even rockabilly. After all, Steak & Shake has a very retro feel!

What I love about this picture, is the manager in the background getting a video on his phone. During the 1st dance, at least half the staff was crowded around with their phone out, taking photos & video! They were so accommodating and even invited us back!

Why Steak’n’Shake? The manager asked me the same thing. I think it’s because its open 24hrs and so many lindy hoppers will frequent the diner after that evening’s dance…or after the late night dance (which can go until 5am!)

LOVE this skirt!

Jose, singing his heart out!

If these photos looked like fun, that’s because there was much fun to be had! Do an internet search for local swing dance groups and thank me later :)

  1. Oh this looks so fun! I dabbled in swing dancing a bit when I was in high school. I miss it! :)

  2. Haha, that looks like a BLAST!
